Seward County Commission Meets Approves Noxious Weed Plan

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening at 5:30 and approved items for the Noxious Weed Department. Approved was the annual agreement between KDOT and Seward County to have the County’s Noxious Weed Department spray along state highway right-of-ways to control noxious weeds in Seward County. Also approved were the 2022 Eradication Report and the 2023 Noxious Weed Plan for Seward County.

The Commissioners gave authorization to the County Administrator, April Warden, to sign The Arnold Group Authorization for Service and begin the completion of updating, formatting and converting all job descriptions to be completed by May 1, 2023.

Approved at the meeting was the 2023 Lease Renewal Agreement for Sheriff’s Department at the Liberal Airport at $1,207.13 annually, and appointed to the Southwest Medical Center Board was Marlene Regier, Ivanhoe Love, and Stacey Cope. Cope received the 3 year term.

The Commission also voted Yes to engage KNRC as the plaintiff on the Lesser Prairie-Chicken Lawsuit lawsuit.
