Seward Softball Sweeps Clarendon

The Seward softball team swooped down to Clarendon and swept the Bulldogs 11-1 and 15-2.

In game one, the Saints scored in every inning but one.  Seward was scoreless in the first but then scored one in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth, and four in the sixth on the way to the run rule win.  SCCC out-hit Clarendon 9-6.  Marisela Landa and Sanaa Keeswood had two hits a piece.  NaTalia Sewell pitched five strong innings for the win.

The Saints run ruled the Bulldogs in game two also.  SCCC plated three in the first, three in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth, and three in the fifth.  Seward out hit Clarendon 14-5.  Seward hit seven doubles.  Aaliyah Gutierrez, Noemi Tudon, Avery Ragsdale, Samantha Gomez, and Sanaa Keeswood had two hits a piece.  Gutierrez drove home five runs and scored three runs.  Corina McClure pitched five innings with eight strikeouts and no walks for the win.

Seward is 5-15 and plays Monday at Northwest Tech.
