Saints Walk Off Trinidad State for Sweep

The Seward County Saints are 4-0 on the baseball diamond after sweeping the Trinidad State Trojans Friday and Saturday at Brent Gould Field.  Saturday the Saints took game one 7-4 and rallied to take game two 10-9.  Trenton Rowan delivered the game winning hit.  The Saints trailed 9-3 going into the bottom of the sixth.

In game one, Seward scored two in the second before Trinidad scored three in the third.  The Saints tied it with a run in the bottom of the third.  The Saints broke the game open with four in the bottom of the sixth.  The Trojans scored a run in the seventh.  Trenton Rowan was 3-4 with a home run.  Jarron Wilcox also went deep in the win.  TJ Newman went four innings on the mound with one run,  three strikeouts, and no walks.  Tristan Curless closed it with three innings.

In game two, the Saints scored a run in the second for the lead.  The Trojans scored three in the third and one in the fourth to lead 4-1.  The Saints scored one in the fourth.  In the fifth, TJC scored three and SCCC scored one to make it 7-3 after five.  TJC scored two more in the sixth for the 9-3 lead.  That’s when Seward began their comeback with five runs in the sixth.  They scored two in the ninth to win it.  Tucker Livermore, Jordan Crowder, Trenton Rowan, and Brody Boisvert had two hits a piece.  Crowder drove home three runs.  Elias Herrera went 1 and 1/3 scoreless for the win.

The Saints host Kirkwood Saturday and Sunday at 1pm at Brent Gould Field.
