The Seward County Saints opened their baseball season with a pair of wins over the Trinidad State Trojans Friday afternoon at Brent Gould Field.  With sunny skies and temperatures reaching into the 60’s, Seward won 7-1 and 15-1 in front of a brand new scoreboard at the ballpark.

In game one,  the Saints plated three in the first after the Trojans scored one.  SCCC scored one in the third, two in the fourth, and one in the sixth.  Seward had seven runs on nine hits.  Tristan Curless was 2-3 with a double, three RBI’s, and two runs.  Ranse Radtke was 2-3 with a double and two runs.  Mason Hagel-Pitt was 2-4.  Trenton Rowan was 2-3 with a double.  Brian Luna pitched four innings for the win.  He struck out eight and allowed one run on five hits.  Francisco Cardenas pitched three innings for the save with four strikeouts.

The Saints won game two in a run rule.  The Saints plated four in the first, seven in the second, and four in the third.  Seward had 15 runs on 14 hits.  Aidan Moore got the win.

The Saints are 2-0 and host Trinidad Saturday at 1pm at Brent Gould Field.
