Eliazar (Elias) Degollado, age 58, died Sunday, January 15, 2023, at his home in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born on May 8, 1964, in Thorndale, Texas, the son of Felix and Vicenta (Luna) Degollado.
Elias grew up in Texas where he graduated high school. He married Dora Arevalo on January 26, 1986, in Lamesa, Texas. Elias was a self-employed truck driver hauling mostly grain. When he was done working for the day he enjoyed listening to music and watching western movies. His family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them. He was a master griller and an avid KC Chiefs fan. Elias also attended Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Elias is survived by his wife, Dora Degollado of their home; five daughters, Johanna Delgado of Yukon, Oklahoma, Pamela Degollado of Wichita, Kayla Degollado, Mai Degollado and Mia Degollado all of Ulysses; parents, Felix and Vicenta Degollado; five brothers, Alfredo Degollado, Miguel Degollado, Frank Degollado, Felix Jr. Degollado, and Ramiro Degollado; three sisters, Macrina Rodriguez, Consuelo Ballesteros, and Rebecca Chavez; and four grandchildren, Natalia Delgado, Jayden Urias, Camila Delgado and Elisa Degollado.
Elias is preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Degollado.
Rosary will be Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 7:00 PM and Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Charles Seiwert officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
