Thomas V. Ford, 71, passed peacefully in his Galveston, TX home, on November 29, 2022.
Tom was born in 1951 to James & Evelyn Ford, in Hugoton, KS.
Tom married Diana Carlile in 1978. He later married Yvonne Gruber in 2001.
Tom graduated from Hugoton High School in 1969. During his 35-year career, he successfully managed three Southwest Kansas electric power plants, and he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Fort Hays State University.
Tom was an adventurous outdoorsman and he enjoyed hunting, scuba & sky diving, flying with his father, riding motorcycles, camping, boating, fishing, traveling, and remodeling his homes. He loved his family fiercely and strived to spend time with them at every opportunity. He never knew a stranger and made friends everywhere he went.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Yvonne; his sons Chris & Marieka Ford (Liberal, KS), Bret & Mikala Ford (Glenwood Springs, CO), and Preston & Lacey Ford (Wamego, KS); his step-daughter Tammy & Jason Barber (Monument, CO) & his step-son Terry Gruber (Los Angeles, CA); his brother Lex & Melissa Ford (Houston, TX) and his sisters Kathy & Bill Dale (Hays, KS), and Lynn & Paul Haiar (Las Vegas, NV); his eight grandchildren Chandler, Sarah, Chris, Kaleb, Aspen, Logan, Lillian, & William; his great-grandson Christopher; and many nieces & nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Barbette Ford, and two brothers, James “Tex” Ford and Terry Ford.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
