Three Redskins Advance to Semifinals

Three of Liberal’s nine wrestlers have won their first two matches to advance to the semifinals of the state wrestling tournament in Wichita. Adrian Salas at 112 pounds won his two matches 15-0 and 18-1. Tyler Sutherland at 152 and Nate Davis at 189 both pinned their first two opponents and will wrestle Friday evening for the right to advance to Saturday’s finals. Alan Catalan at 140 and heavyweight Ricky Gomez both pinned first round opponents before losing in the second round.
