“Today was an odd day for sure, but all of our girls showed great sportsmanship and grit. Our doubles team put up a fight in every match and we’re in every point till the very end. While their record on the day won’t show it, these teams are definitely improving and giving opponents a challenge. Our singles players had a tough day, #2 singles Ava Maxwell got drawn the #1 player at the tournament. She had some great shots, and never quit on any point. #1 singles Katie Classen, had a good start and stayed fighting as long as we thought was needed. All these girls are extremely resilient and motivated. We’re excited to keep competing this next week and then preparing for conference and regional play.
