Seward County Women’s Tennis Coach Darin Workman has
announced the signing of his daughter, Liberal High School player
Caitlin Workman, for the 2010-2011 season. Caitlin Workman played in
the #1 doubles slot for the Lady Skins this fall and is a four time
varsity letterman. She made the switch this season to doubles after
spending the majority of her first three seasons in singles action which
she said she enjoys more. “I like playing singles more than doubles but
I just want to do whatever is best for the team. If that is playing
both, playing one or the other I am ok with that” she said. Coach
Workman is excited about the prospects of coaching his daughter saying
“it will be fun as long as she listens to me better on the court than
she does at home” he laughed. “She is a good player but we feel like
she has a lot of things to improve on before moving on to the four year
level” he continued. Workman will be the first Liberal High School
tennis player to play for the Lady Saints in 6 seasons while the men’s
team currently has two with Landon Harp and Aaron Shaffer. Caitlin will
join the team in August and don the green and white for the first time
as a Lady Saint in match action later that fall.
