Bee Jay Win Streak Ends at 19

The Hays Larks moved a step closer to the Liberal Bee Jays with a 6-4 win over Liberal Thursday night at Larks Park. The loss snapped Liberal’s 19 game winning streak. The BJ’s lost despite out hitting the Larks 8-7. Liberal had four errors and Hays had one.
The Larks struck early with one in the second, one in third, and two in the fourth. The Bee Jays rallied with three in the seventh and one in the eighth. The Larks scored two in the bottom of the eighth for the 6-4 lead.
Jackson Berry pitched five innings with six strikeouts, one walks, and two earned runs. Nick Moore went 1 and 1/3 scoreless. Robert Bonilla 1 and 2/3 with four strikeouts and no earned runs. The BJ’s allowed only two earned runs so four runs were unearned.
Liberal falls to 28-5 overall and 23-2 in the Rocky Mountain. Hays is 30-7 overall and 21-3 in the league. The same two teams play Friday night at 7:30 at Larks Park in Hays with pre-game at 7:15 on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and The Legend App.
