BJ’s Strike Out 18 in Win Over Denver

The Liberal Bee Jay pitchers struck out 18 Denver Cougar hitters on the way to a 7-1 win Friday night at Brent Gould Field.  Jackson Berry went four innings with seven strikeouts, Robert Bonilla pitched four shutout innings with nine strikeouts and Colby Diduch went one inning with two K’s.

Liberal scored a run in the first when Gavin Brzozowski reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch.  Denver tied the game in the second.  Chance Reisdorph lined a triple on the right field line to lead off the second.  He scored on a wild pitch.  Denver walked three in the third before Chance Reisdorph lined a two RBI double to left.  Liberal scored two in the seventh when Reisdorph ripped a two RBI single to right center.  Both of Reisdorph’s two RBI base hits came with two outs.  Conner Westenburg walked to lead off the eighth and then turned on the jets stealing second, advancing to third on a pitch in the dirt and scoring Gavin Brzozowski ground out to first.  Reisdorph was 3-4 with four RBI’s, a triple, and a double.

Liberal has won five in a row and is 14-4 overall and 11-1 in the Rocky Mountain.  Denver is 15-9 and 10-8 in the RMBL.  The same two teams play Saturday night at 7pm at Brent Gould Field with pre-game at 6:45 on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and The Legend App.  Golden Plains Credit Union is the buyout sponsor.
