The Seward County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire on Road I in Northern Seward County shortly after 3:00pm on Tuesday afternoon. Fire units quickly stopped the forward progress of the fire and stayed on scene working hotspots. The fire was declared out and fire units cleared the scene by 3:55pm.
The Fire burned approximately 5 acres of natural vegetation and it was determined that the fire was caused by an electrical equipment malfunction.
Firefighters were assisted by locals in the fire suppression and several with tanks of water.
