Carrillo To Step Down as United Way Director

From Clarissa Carrillo:

I’m writing to announce that I will be resigning as Director for our Seward County United Way. I will share that this has not been an easy decision for me to take, and a lot of deep thinking went into this decision. I received an offer from the University of Kansas Medical Center, and I have decided to take this opportunity. I hope to continue to grow and become an even better and stronger asset to our community.

I want to say thank you for all your trust, help, and support these two or three years that I’ve been here helping as Director. We had some challenging years with the pandemic, but we are still here standing, and that’s thanks to the support, help, and work that you do! I have enjoyed every moment, even the crazy hectic ones, from delivering food boxes to delivering Valentine’s Day arrangements, but mainly learning and helping with the needs of our community.

My final and last day still needs to be determined, and we will continue to work as usual with our Allocation Process taking place in the next two weeks. However, we will begin advertising our United Way Director’s Position immediately. I have attached a summary of our job duties to this email. Please share this information with those you think might be an excellent fit for our organization.

I want to ask that you continue to support our mission and work. I got the opportunity to see how a dollar can turn into a chance for a child to get involved or help reduce some anxiety from families that were at risk of getting their electricity disconnected! I have seen the why and the importance of our United Way and each agency that receives the funding.
