Saints Grab a Mid Week Win at Frank Phillips

The Seward County Saints baseball team won their final tune up before Jayhawk West play begins. Tuesday, the Saints won 9-8 over the Frank Phillips Plainsmen in Borger. The Saints scored a run in the ninth and held FPC scoreless in the ninth.
The Plainsmen led 5-1 after three innings. The Saints got revved up in the middle innings. Seward plated two in the fifth and three in the sixth to lead 6-5 after six. FPC scored two in the seventh to lead 7-6. Seward scored two in eighth and one in the ninth for the road win.
Seward out hit Frank Phillips 12-11. Seward won despite four errors and FPC had three errors. Ranse Radtke led the Saints offense going 3-5 with three RBI’s and a double. Tristan Curless was also 3-5. Connor Cox and Javier Gomez added doubles. On the mound, Colby Rohr went two scoreless innings. Josh Eichstadt and Zach Walker pitched scoreless innings to close it out.
The Saints are 6-14 and play the Dodge City Conquistadors at 1pm Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s game are at Cavalier Field in Dodge City and Sunday’s games are at Brent Gould Field in Liberal. The games air on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and The Legend App.
