Betty F. Davolt, age 79, died February 26, 2022, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born May 15, 1942, in Elkhart, Kansas, the daughter of Nimrod and Eula Peral (Hudson) Gillaspie.
Betty grew up in Elkhart and has lived the last 38 years in Elkhart. She married Larry Davolt on September 21, 1983, in Boise City, Oklahoma. Betty liked to garden, paint t-shirts, and embroidery tea-towels. She loved to cook and enjoyed sharing her baked goods with others. She was also an excellent seamstress and made clothing for her family and friends. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart. She accepted Christ as her personal savior and was trusting Him to take care of her.
Betty is survived by her husband, Larry of the home; daughters, Tammy Cooper of Texas and Susie Cooper of Florida; brothers, Don Gillaspie of Wichita, Kansas, and Morris Gillaspie of Douglas, Kansas; sisters, Virginia Bracken of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Belva McBee of Tyrone, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; and daughters, Sherry Cooper and Cindy Cooper.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart with Pastor Ed Richards officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
