Lady Red Rolls Past Garden City

The Liberal Lady Redskins defeated Garden City for the 14th time in 15 tries Tuesday night in the Big House.  Liberal won 57-36 to improve to 3-0 in the WAC with a showdown with Dodge City looming on Friday.

Garden City led 4-2 before the Lady Redskins ripped off an 18-0 run to lead 20-4 and led 20-6 after one quarter.  LHS led 34-11 and led 34-14 at halftime.  It was 44-21 after three.  Liberal led by as many as 27 at 53-26.

Liberal shot 49 percent and made 7-16 three pointers.  Bree Horyna had 13 points and seven rebounds.  Ashley Carrillo had 11 points, six rebounds, and six assists.  Hailey Contreras had 12 for the Lady Redskins.  Hallie West dropped in eight.  Liberal played without Rylee Hallman due to injury.  She suited up but did not play.

Liberal is 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the WAC and Garden City is 1-8 and 1-1 in the WAC.  Liberal hosts Dodge City Friday night at 6 with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and The Legend App.
