Cobb Fire No Longer Threat to Guymon City Limits

The Texas County Sheriff’s Office says the fire is no longer of threat to the city limits of Guymon.  The fire is now north of Guymon  Residents who live south of 24th street who wee evacuated are being allowed back to their homes.  Highway 64 north at Walmart and south at the 64/136 junction remain closed due to heavy smoke.  Authorities says to use an alternate route in and out of Guymon.  Meanwhile, at the Seaboard Food Plant, all B shift is cancelled  pending C shift.

 

On Wednesday afternoon,  Texas County Sheriff’s Office  issued an evacuation order for Mike Drive near the Guymon Game Reserve, the area of Buffalo Drive and Sunset Lane near 24th Street.  Walmart was being advised to close along with the Dollar Tree Shopping Center.  Dunaway Manor and Heritage Manor were closed. The Texas County Activity Center had been closed to evacuation due to fire danger.  The Connections Church is open and as is the Texas County OEM office in the Yucca area.
