Bids Awarded for Roadwork in Seward and Meade Counties.

The Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place Nov. 17, 2021, in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.

In Meade County beginning north of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in Meade north to the Meade/Gray county line, milling and overlay, 12.6 miles,  bid was awarded to Venture Corporation, Great Bend, Kansas, $2,306,772.53.

Also in Meade County at U.S. 160, beginning at the Seward/Meade county line northeast to U.S. 160/U.S. 54 junction, milling and overlay, 3.8 miles, bid was awarded to J & R Sand Company Inc., Liberal, Kansas, $712,624.74.

Three projects in Seward County bids were awarded.  On U.S. 83, from the Kansas and Oklahoma state line north to 0.9 mile north of the U.S. 83/K‑51 junction, milling and overlay, 13.7 miles, bid went to J & R Sand Company Inc., Liberal, Kansas, $17,576,125.60.

U.S. 83, intersection at Salley Road located approximately 1 mile north of Liberal, intersection improvement, this bid to J & R Sand Company Inc., Liberal, Kansas, $2,685,937.16

And  U.S. 160, from the U.S. 83/U.S. 160 junction east to the Seward/Meade county line, milling and overlay, 12.9 miles, again to J & R Sand Company Inc., Liberal, Kansas, $1,681,566.24.
