Redskins Take Opener Over Colby

The Liberal Redskins won their first game for new head coach Keenan Thompson Friday night in the Big House. Liberal beat Colby 54-47 in Colby’s first ever trip to the Big House for high school basketball.
The Redskins led 17-14 after one quarter and took a 31-20 lead just before lead 31-24 at halftime. The Redskins led 36-24 in the third quarter before LHS settled for a 41-36 lead after three quarters. The Eagles rallied with a 17-5 run to tie the game at 41-41. But they never took a late lead. A clutch right corner three pointer by Logan Miller gave the Redskins a 46-41 lead.
Neither team could hit a free throw as Liberal was 8-19 and Colby was 13-27. Liberal was just 3-17 from three point range.
Coby Tran and Izzy Rotolo scored 11 a piece. Logan Miller had nine.
