Liberal competed at the 6A regional meet this Saturday at Wichita East. Liberal had the girls up in the first race that came away with 3 individuals runners making it to the state meet. Leading the pack once again was Daniela Cerda who would finish 5th with a time of 20:47. Next to follow behind her for the team was freshman Isabela Gutierrezwith a time of 22:02 to place 16th. Hallie West would round out the girls who qualified for state at 18th place with a time of 22:19.

 

The Boys race was to follow as the field was anyone’s race to win. Leading our boys was sophomore MJ Foster who would finish 15th in the race with a time of 17:49. He missed qualifying for the state meet by one spot. Coming in second on the boys team was Daniel Amparan who would finish 23rd and freshman Enrique Morales finishing 27th.

 

Both teams executed well on the day and left everything out on the course. With State this next week we look forward to the girls running and hopefully making some All State honors.
