Vehicle Stop Results in Drug Arrest

On October 7th, an Officer of the Hugoton Police Department stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of N. Main Street in Hugoton. The driver was identified as Marcelino Zambrano, 61, of Hugoton. During the stop, the officer developed reasonable suspicion of illegal activity. During a search of the vehicle, the officer found a meth pipe. Mr. Zambrano was arrested for possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, interference with a law enforcement officer, driving while suspended, illegal registration, no insurance, and failure to signal.

He was transported to the Stevens County Jail. An affidavit was forwarded to the Stevens County Attorney pending formal charges.
