Tuesday Afternoon Fire North of Liberal

At 4:10pm on July 27, 2021 Seward County Fire Department was dispatched to a vegetation fire on Hwy 51 and Road D. Units arrived on scene to find approximately half an acre of vegetation with a slow rate of spread. The fire was extinguished and Units were released. The cause of the fire is undetermined. No injuries or damage was reported. The department responded with 5 firefighters, 2 chief officers, 2 engines, and 3 water tenders. The department was assisted by the Sheriff’s Office.
