Liberal High School is excited to announce the hiring of Larissa Lujan as the Head
Cheerleading Coach.

“I am beyond excited and humbled for the opportunity of being selected as the new
Liberal High School cheerleading coach. After cheering under the supervision of
Scarlette Diseker, in the 2008-2009 school year, it is with great honor I continue to instill
the love for the sport to the LHS cheer squad,” Lujan said. “As a veteran LHS
cheerleader, I am excited to now be on the sidelines as the coach along with amazing
assistant coaches Monica Vega and Viviana Ortiz and prepared for all the adventures
that await.”

Lujan is currently a social worker at Prairie View Elementary. Her cheer experience
started in 2008 at South Middle School. She cheered for four years at Liberal High
School and two years at Seward County Community College.

“Larissa is exactly the kind of person we wanted to hire as we searched for the next
leader of Liberal Redskins cheerleading, She shares our commitment to both integrity
and competitive excellence,” said Kerri Miles, Incoming Activities Director. “She also has
an understanding of the proud tradition of this program and what it means to LHS
cheerleaders, this school and the community. We are excited to help her begin the
program’s next chapter. Larissa’s experience and success as a cheerleader and her
passion for cheering is what will help her excel in her new position.”
