LHS Girls Make 18 Three’s in Win Over Hooker

The Liberal Lady Redskins knocked down 18 three pointers in a 76-36 win over Hooker Friday night in the Big House.  It was Liberal’s second highest scoring output of the season.  They scored 80 at Holcomb.

The Lady Red jumped out to a 17-3 lead after one quarter and led 44-14 at the half.   Liberal led 62-30 after three.  The game used a running clock in the fourth quarter.  In Kansas, when there is a 30 point spread in the fourth quarter, there is an option of using a running clock.

Liberal made 18-37 three pointers as Hooker was 0-5 from three.  Liberal shot 49 percent from the field and held Hooker to 35 percent shooting.  Hooker had 20 turnovers.  Liberal out rebounded Hooker 27-14.

Ashley Carrillo led Liberal with 21 points, five rebounds,  five steals, and four assists.  Hailey Contreras scored 20 and made six 3-pointers.  Bree Horyna had 13 points and seven rebounds.  Halle Payton scored nine.  Hollie Stalder scored 13 for Hooker.

Liberal is 13-3 and plays at Hugoton Tuesday night at 6 with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.  Hooker is 17-2 and plays at Guymon Saturday.
