The Liberal Redskins continue to play well at Great Bend. With four different head coaches, Liberal has won six of their last seven and nine of their last 11 at Great Bend. Friday night on homecoming night at Great Bend, the Redskins walked out with a 51-41 win.
The Angry Red stormed out of the locker room to lead 10-2 and 13-4 after one quarter. The Panthers used a 15-5 run to grab a 19-18 lead. The game was tied 20-20 at the half. Liberal led 35-31 after three. The Redskins led 41-33 with 5:56 to play. Liberal led 43-35 with 3:56 to play. The Skins led by nine 44-35 with 1:33 remaining.
Embry Williams had 17 to lead the Redskins. A.J. Ramirez scored 13 and was in attack mode with a dizzying array of passes the LHS lay ups. Shay Kerr added 10.
The Redskins are 5-9 and 1-4 in the WAC. Great Bend is 4-9 and 1-3 in the WAC. Liberal plays five of their last six at home. They have only played one home WAC game and have completed their WAC road schedule. Liberal hosts Guymon Tuesday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
