Redskins Bounce Back at Guymon

After a tough loss at Gruver on Tuesday, the Liberal Redskins returned to the win column Friday night in Guymon.  The Skins defeated the Tigers 57-49 after a slow start.

The Redskins didn’t scored until made free throws at the 2:18 mark of the first quarter.  The Redskins rallied to tie the game 9-9 and Guymon led 11-9 after one.  The Skins led 26-23 at halftime and built a 38-33 lead after three quarters.  The Angry Red lead ballooned to 47-35 before the Tigers reeled the Skins back in to 47-42.  The Skins settled down to lead 53-44.

The Redskins sank 16-21 free throws on the night.  Embry Williams scored 14 while Shay Kerr added 12.  A.J. Ramirez had an 11 point night.  Alex Lopez scored 10. Guymon’s Nash Kauffman had 11 to lead Guymon.  Gannon Wallace and Brett Fields scored 10 a piece.

The Redskins are 4-9 overall and Guymon is 3-11.  The Redskins play at Great Bend Friday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
