National Beef Releases Statement on Industrial Accident

We are saddened to report that an employee at the National Beef plant in Liberal, Kansas died as the result of an accident at the plant on January 28. The employee was immediately transported to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal and later pronounced dead. No one else was injured in the accident.

Our primary concern is for the wellbeing of this employee’s family and the safety of our team members in Liberal. We have grief counselors available to team members and are focused on their immediate needs. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

We are currently working closely with the appropriate regulatory agencies to investigate the situation.

Out of respect and privacy concerns, the name of the employee has not been released and we will not be providing further information at this time.
