Carrillo Wins MVP at SIT

Liberal junior guard Ashley Carrillo is the most valuable at the Salina Invitational.  She poured in 21 points in the championship game Saturday against Salina Central.   She also had a 17 point game against Abilene on Thursday.  Junior Bree Horyna is all SIT.  She stepped up big with 12 points and nine rebounds in the championship game Saturday.  She also had six points against Salina South Friday and nine against Abilene on Thursday. Halle Payton is all Salina Invitational Tournament.  The senior made her last SIT her best by making nine three pointers which is second all time in the tournament’s history.  Payton hit for 12 points in the championship game and had 12 against Abilene.

Liberal’s boys team had representation on the all tournament team.  A.J. Ramirez is all SIT.  Ramirez scored double digits in all three of Liberal’s games in Salina.  He had 13 Saturday against Buhler, 10 Friday against Concordia, and 10 Thursday against Salina South.

The LHS teams play at Gruver Tuesday and at Guymon on Friday on 1270.
