The Liberal Redskins spotted the Dodge City Red Demons a 21-9 lead after one quarter and 32-12 lead in the second quarter. The Redskins battled back but lost 76-65 Friday night in the Dodge City Fieldhouse.
After digging the early hole it was 37-25 Demons at the half. They kept the Skins at arm’s length most of the night leading 53-43 after three. The closest the Redskins came was 55-49 with 5:50 to play.
Dodge City shot 45 percent and the Redskins shot 39 percent. Liberal has shot over 40 percent just once this season (44% vs. Scott City). LHS was 5-22 from three point range and Dodge was 5-14. Liberal was 20-29 at the foul line while the Red Demons made a killing at the foul line going 29-41. Yes, 70 free throws in a high school game which was chippy in the second half.
A.J. Ramirez had 18 points and Embry Williams scored 15.
Liberal had dropped four straight and is 2-6 overall and 0-4 in the WAC. Dodge is 6-3 and 1-0.
