Bee Jays Falter in the Ninth in Loss at Denver

In a season full of highs, this was the low. The Liberal Bee Jays allowed three ninth inning runs to fall to the Denver Cougars 5-4 Sunday morning at All Star Park in Denver. The BJ’s finish 2-2 on the trip to Colorado.
Liberal got off to a decent start scoring one in the first and two in the third for a 3-0 lead. The Cougars scored one in the fourth. The BJ’s plated a run in the seventh to lead 4-1. Denver scored in the seventh to lead 4-2. Denver scored three in the bottom of the ninth for the walk off win. Wyatt Grant was 3-5 and Jack Malone was 2-4.
Dylan Johnson went five solid innings with five strikeouts and one walk allowing one run. John Kelly worked three innings and allowed one unearned run. Rafferty Brown worked 2/3 allowing three runs in the loss.
Liberal is 22-5 and has Monday off. The Bee Jays play a two game series at Derby on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 on 1270 and kscbnews.net. Dugout Show coverage begins at 6:45 both nights.
