Through Resolution 2328 passed March 18th, the City of Liberal will no longer allow citizens at their City Commission meetings. As stated in the Resolution, ” That City Commission meetings shall be made available for the public to view real time by going to the following website: cityofliberal.org then clicking the “Watch Live” link under City Government. Individuals are prohibited from attending these meetings in person except for as specifically listed: City Commissioners, City Manager, City Clerk, City Attorney, Finance director, IT personnel as needed, security as needed, and other personnel as deemed necessary by the City Manager and/or City Commission. Public comments may be submitted to the City Clerk prior to the meetings for discussion via email to [email protected] or by first class mail to City Clerk, PO Box 2199, Liberal KS 67905″.

The Resolution also states “That any and all events hosted by or held in conjunction with the City of Liberal, Kansas are hereby suspended. All meeting places typically available for reservation through the City are hereby closed. All City owned or maintained recreational facilities and events and the recreational center is hereby closed. City parks are still open, but care should be taken to ensure social distancing occurs and persons shall remain compliant with mandates regarding number of individuals allowed to be in one area”.

This Resolution is in effect for 60 days.
