Lady Redskins Ground the Lady Jays

Liberal improved to 18-0 for  a second consecutive season with a 62-31 win at Cimarron Tuesday night.  Liberal shot 56 percent from the field after shooting 58 percent Friday against Hays.

LHS led 19-9 early and 19-10 after one quarter.  Liberal led 28-13 and 30-14 in the second quarter and 30-16 at halftime.  Liberal used a 15-2 run to begin the second half to lead 45-18 in the third quarter.  It was 51-29 LHS after three quarters.  Liberal held the ball in much of the fourth quarter to keep the score down.  The tie breaker for the regional is points allowed.

Ashley Carrillo played her best game with 13 points, seven assists, no turnovers, and four steals.  Machia Mullens had 12 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks.  Katie Horyna had 12 points and four rebounds.  Aubrey Warden had 10 points and six rebounds.  Audrey Gilmore had nine points and three assists.  Liberal mad 4-8 three pointers and 10-12 at the foul line.  Liberal only committed six turnovers.

Liberal wins their fifth straight against the Lady Jays.  LHS is 18-0 and wins a 52nd in a row in the regular season and 25th in a row on the road.  Cimarron is 11-7.  Liberal plays at Great Bend Saturday night at 6 with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
