Lady Redskins Do Enough to Beat Great Bend

All of Liberal’s streaks continue.  They have won 38 in a row in the Big  House.  They have claimed 20 consecutive WAC games.  They have won 48 in a row in the regular season.  But something was amiss in Liberal’s 45-38 win over a struggling Great Bend program.  Great Bend packed in a 2-3 zone and Liberal was 2-17 from three point range.

Liberal led 12-9 after one and 19-17 at the half.  The Lady Red built a 26-17 lead before the Lady Panthers rallied to make it 26-26.  Liberal led 32-26 and led 33-29 after three.  The Lady Skins led 44-34 before winning by seven.

Machia Mullens had 15 points and nine rebounds in the win.  Katie Horyna had 12 points and four steals.  Aubrey Warden added eight.

Liberal wins their sixth in a row against Great Bend.  Liberal is 14-0 and 5-0 in the WAC.  Great Bend is 3-12 and 0-4 in the WAC.  Liberal plays at Newton Monday night at about 6 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
