Lady Redskins Advance to Fourth Straight SIT Final

For the fourth consecutive season, the Liberal Lady Redskins are in the championship of the Salina Invitational Tournament.  The program will go for a third straight SIT crown Saturday night.  Liberal defeated one of the hosts, Salina South,  Friday afternoon at Mabee Arena at Kansas Weslyan University to advance.  Liberal dominated this game in a 51-26 win over the Lady Cougars.  It’s the third straight year LHS has defeated South in the semifinals.

Liberal shot it well again Friday making nine three pointers.  LHS led 20-10 after one quarter.  LHS built a 31-12 second quarter lead and led 36-14 at halftime.  Liberal led 46-20 after three and led 51-22.

Machia Mullens led Liberal with 13 points.  Katie Horyna added nine.  Ashley Carrillo and Reagan Watt scored eight a piece.

Liberal is 11-0 and will play Salina Central in the title game Saturday at 5 at Mabee Arena in Salina.  This will be the fourth straight meeting between Liberal and Salina Central in the final.  The game will air on 1270 and kscbnews.net with Redskin Pre-game at 4:45.
