Joint Communications System Approved at County Commission Meeting

Joe Denoyer - December 2, 2019 9:37 pm

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening and approved to proceed in cooperation with the City of Liberal with the new radio system. This project replaces all existing emergency radio equipment from the dispatch center to the tower and includes new radios for all emergency vehicles as well as handheld radios.

The City and County have worked together to bring this project together in the most cost effective means possible. This has been a multi-year work in progress and will take the Communications System well into the future.

The City of Liberal took action at their last meeting, and now with the County’s approval this will allow receipt of the $410,545.00 discount on the contract.
