The Hugoton Police Department arrested Gilbert Ryan Montoya, 39 of Hugoton for Criminal Threat, Domestic Battery and Felon in Possession of a firearm.

On Sunday at 08-18-2019 at approximatelty 10:49 pm, Sgt. Fedelin and Ofc. Davis were dispatched to the Sherriff’s Department for a report of a domestic battery.  During an interview with the victim, it was determined that a criminal threat was made at the time of the domestic battery.  Mr. Montoya was arrested on both charges.

On Monday 08-19-2019 Det. Lamatch and Ofc. Davis exucuted a search warrant on Mr. Montoya’s residence.  During the search, five hanguns, two shotguns, a taser, over 500 rounds of ammunition and a machete were confiscated.  The investigation is ongoing and the case will presented to the Steven County Attorney.
