Bee Jays Hold on to Beat Boulder

The Liberal Bee Jays won their season high sixth straight game Wednesday night at Brent Gould Field.  The Bee Jays beat the Boulder Collegians 9-8 to sweep the two game series with the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Baseball League.

The Bee Jays used a five run third inning to jump ahead early.  Aiden Shepardson singled, Justin Quinn walked, and Trevor MacDonald singled.  Connor Emmet singled home two runs.  Cayde Ward then doubled home a run.  Shane Sirdashney singled home a run.  The Bee Jays took a 6-0 lead with a run in the fifth. Ward singled to lead off the inning and scored on a Brandon Holdren double.  The Collegians scored a run in the sixth and two in the seventh.  Liberal added a run in the bottom of the sixth to lead 7-3.  Shepardson walked and scored on a Justin Quinn double. The BJ’s plated two in the eighth to lead 9-3.  Quinn reached on an error and scored on MacDonald’s double.  Emmett singled home a run.  Boulder made things interesting in the ninth scoring five runs on two hits, one error, two walks, and a bean ball.

Jake Reed gave the Bee Jays a quality start going six innings with seven strikeout and one walk.
