Hugoton Police Make Vehicle Theft Arrest

On April 29, at approximately 9:41pm, Officer McCann of the Hugoton Police Department took a report of a stolen vehicle at the Westfield Apartments in Hugoton. During the investigation, Officer McCann received information regarding the suspects location. Officer McCann and MPO Crane went to the location and found the suspect, Rafael Alvarado, 27, of Hugoton, attempting to hide in a bathroom. The suspect was arrested without incident. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.

Alvarado was booked into the Stevens County Jail and an affidavit has been sent to the County Attorneys Office requesting charges of Aggravated Burglary and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
