Seward Volleyball Players Sign at D-1 Schools

LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County Community College volleyball players Esmadar Tavares and Aundrea Boyland will be heading to Division I institutions in the fall. Tavares will join Radford University and Boyland will be playing for South Carolina State. The pair signed their letter of intents on Thursday in the All-American Room on the SCCC campus.
Tavares, who was a Jayhawk West Honorable Mention, appeared in 38 matches for the Lady Saints this past season. She was fourth in kills with 194 and fourth in points with 251. The 5-11, sophomore from Brazil will join the Highlanders, who went 12-4 in the Big South Conference and 22-7 overall.
Boyland, a red-shirt sophomore, had limited playing time for the Lady Saints, appearing in only nine matches this past season. A native of Arlington, Texas, the 5-11 Boyland will play for the Bulldogs, who had a tough past season. South Carolina State was 1-9 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and 1-26 overall.
