USD 480 Board Meets, May have Potential Buyer for the Old Washington School Property
The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening for both a regular meeting and workshop to discuss a potential performance contract for improvements and energy savings in district facilities. The Liberal Chamber of Commerce recognized Bethany Stoney, Kindergarten teacher at MacArthur, as the February Teacher of the Month. The First United Methodist Church donated $2000 to five teachers as part of their mission and service project.
In new business, the BOE approved the 19-20 school calendar, purchase of new acoustical shells for Maskus Auditorium at LHS, a request from the technology department to increase storage for security camera footage, a storage building for Bright Start ELC. The final action was approval for the district to send a letter of intent and brokerage contract pending legal review for the sale of 840 N. Washington to a potential buyer.
