Finally, the board scheduled a special meeting for Monday, October 29th at 7:00am to appoint a candidate for the board vacancy based on the information provided by the interested candidates.
USD 480 Board Meets, Sets Date to Fill Board Vacancy
The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening in regular session. The board approved for Liberal High School and Seymour Rogers Middle School FCCLA students to attend the national competition in November where students will be competing in a variety of events. This competition will be held in Phoenix, Arizona. Also approved was the adoption and implementation of a PreK-12 bullying curriculum from the Pacer National Bullying Prevention Center. Each building will develop an integrated school wide plan to implement the curriculum throughout the year.
The BOE approved numerous projects to district facilities including a Planned Service Proposal from Johnson Controls to provide “premium” coverage of most of the HVAC equipment, soliciting bids for the remodel of LHS science classrooms, proposals to perform site work at the former Lincoln Elementary location, and accepted a bid from G & G Dozer for the demolition of the former McDermott and Washington sites.
