MEADE – Artesian Valley Health System is pleased to announce Tara Ramlochan, NEA-BC, MSN, RN, as the new permanent CEO.

Tara Ramlochan originally joined AVHS in April of 2018 as the Interim Chief Nursing Officer.

Soon after, the CEO position opened and Ramlochan was appointed joint Interim CEO/CNO.

During the July 2018 Board of Directors meeting Ramlochan was offered and accepted the permanent CEO position.

Ramlochan came to AVHS with both medical and administrative experience.

Ramlochan is a Registered Nurse and has a Master’s Degree in Nursing. She also holds the NEA-BC certification (Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified) and has more than 12 years of leadership experience in multi-specialties in small and large hospitals.

She has a broad expertise in diverse medical specialties and clinical services including Critical Care, PACU, ED, OB, NICU, ICU, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Cardiac Surgery, Cath Lab, Surgical Services, Nursing Supervision and Crisis Intervention.

Ramlochan also has oversight in positively transforming organizations through collaboration with medical directors, implementing new infrastructure framework and utilizing cross-functional team leadership.

With Ramlochan’s expertise and accomplishments, it’s no surprise she has also served as a consultant to other CEOs and health systems around the country.

In specific comparison to AVHS, Ramlochan held leadership roles in a critical access hospital in the rural smoky mountains of North Carolina.

She incorporated new systems, policies and procedures that increased both patients’ satisfaction and employee morale, which as Ramlochan says are “two needed variables for successful operations in today’s healthcare environment.”

Within the few short months Ramlochan has been at AVHS, these areas have already seen positive results

While in the CEO role at AVHS, Ramlochan has noted a lot of talent among employees and their desire to grow.

She further shares, “With healthcare today, the best thing administration can do is grow their people and grow their talents. That’s what we’re doing and people are feeling really good.”

When you meet Ramlochan you easily notice her compassionate and attentive personality.

She is very family-oriented and loves spending time with her family. Ramlochan and her husband reside in Meade and they have three daughters and one granddaughter who live in New York state.

Ramlochan also enjoys spending time out in the community getting to know people and building relationships.

She believes AVHS has a lot to offer and likes to share that personally with the community.

AVHS welcomes Tara as CEO and is excited for the future.
