Crews have begun a mill and overlay project on U.S. 54 in Seward County. The project begins at the Six Points intersection in Liberal and continues east to the start of the four lane section on U.S. 54. It will skip the four-lane concrete section east of Liberal and continue east from the end of the four lane section to the south city limits of Plains.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, and be prepared to stop.
APAC Shears of Hutchinson is the contractor on this $2.6 million project which is expected to be completed in September, weather permitting.
