Bee Jays Take Series in Augusta

The Bee Jays won a non league series in Augusta against the Kansas Cannons this weekend.  The Bee Jays beat the Kansas Cannons 11-4 Sunday afternoon at Rodney Wheeler Stadium in Augusta.

The Bee Jays scored two in the second and three in the fourth for a 5-0 lead.  The Bee Jays added one in the fifth before the Cannons plated a run to make it 6-1 after five.  The BJ’s blew the game wide open with four in the sixth to lead 10-1.

Bailey Cantu pitched five solid innings for the win allowing just one run on two hits.  Anders Davidson worked two innings and Channy Ortiz went two scoreless innings.

Jack Krauel was 3-6. Dane Simon was 2-4 with a triple.  RJ Pearson was 2-3 with two RBI’s. Clint Allen was 2-6. Dylan Paul stole two bases and scored three runs.

Liberal is 17-12 and returns to Jayhawk League play for the rest of the season.  Liberal plays at El Dorado against the Broncos Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights at 7.  Hear the games on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
