Former Bee Jays Selected in Draft

Several former Liberal Bee Jays have had their name called in the 2018 MLB Draft. 2015 Bee Jay Luke Sherley was selected by the Tigers in the 14th round. 2016 and 2017 Bee Jay Derek Craft was selected in the 16th round by the Yankees. 2015 Bee Jay Chase Chambers was taken in the 18th by the Mets.
Sherley plays at Texas State and is from The Woodlands, Texas. He hit 297 with five homers and 43 RBI’s for the Bobcats. He played shortstop for the Bee Jays in 2015 hitting .293 with 24 RBI’s and 13 doubles helping Liberal to a third place finish at the NBC World Series.
Craft us from UTSA and pitched for the Bee Jays the past two seasons. The 6’8” righty from Hawkins, Texas had a 1.89 ERA this season with 62 strikeouts. Last summer for the Bee Jays, he pitched 17 innings with a 4.23 ERA with 21 strikeouts and nine walks.
Chambers had a monster year at Tennessee Tech with a .404 average, 17 homers and 82 RBI’s. He is from Farragut, Tennessee. For Liberal in 2015, the left handed hitter hit .268 with three homers, 15 RBI’s, and seven doubles.
Liberal native Jon Littell was selected in the 37th round by the Dodgers. He hit .266 with seven homers and 42 RBI’s at Oklahoma State. He is the son of former Seward and current OSU women’s basketball coach Jim Littell.
