Semi Collides with Car at Pershing and Pancake

Monday a semi and a car collided in Liberal sending a Liberal woman to the hospital. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 49 year old Rosa Chavez of Liberal was driving a Toyota Corolla west on Highway 54. Her vehicle failed to stop at the red light and collided with a Volvo tractor at Pershing and Pancake Monday at about 5:13 PM. The vehicles came to rest in the west bound lane of 54. Chavez was injured and taken to Southwest Medical Center. The driver of the truck was not injured.
