Liberal Defense Leads to Win Over Dodge City

A strong defense all night and an improved output on offense in the second half helped Liberal beat Dodge City 47-27 Friday night in the Big House. The Lady Redskins out scored Dodge City 27-11 in the second half on the way to a win.
Liberal led 8-7 after one quarter and led 20-16 at halftime. The Lady Redskins finally started making more shots in the post in the third quarter and led 34-19 after three.
Liberal made 6-9 three pointers. Ali Lucero led LHS with 12 points. Whitney Hay dropped in nine on three 3 pointers.
Liberal is 7-1 and 2-1 in the WAC. It’s their third straight win over DCHS. The Lady Demons are 4-3 and 0-1 in the WAC. Liberal plays at Northwest Classen Saturday afternoon at 2. Their next game on the radio is Thursday at 3 at Salina against Goodland.
