Seward beat Dodge City for the first time since Valentine’s Day of 2015 Wednesday night.  The Saints needed heart to win this game 70-64 at the Dodge City Activity Center.  Playing without suspended Ke-Sean Davis and with two players Isiah Small and Anthony Thomas who played but were slowed by injuries, Seward still won on the road.

The Saints jumped out to a 12-3 lead before the Conqs took an 18-16 lead.  The Saints led in the halftime locker room 30-26.  The Saints built third quarter leads of 40-28 and 44-32.  Seward led bench points 41-23 showing their depth again.  Seward made 44 percent of their shots and held DCCC to 36 percent shooting.  Seward won despite going 7-16 at the foul line.

Terrell Alfred hit several clutch shots in the fourth quarter on the way to a 15 point night.  Mo Selmi had 14 points and nine rebounds.  Devin Bethely had 12 points.  Jordan Mitchell dropped in 10.

Seward is 7-5 in the Jayhawk and 11-5 overall while Dodge City is 5-11 and 3-9 in the KJCCC.  Seward hosts Garden City Saturday night at 8 in the Green House.  First National Bank is the game sponsor.   The Saints will be featured during the Green Line Thursday night at 6 on 1270 and kscbnews.net at Billy’s Ayr Lanes.
