Buffaloes Bully Liberal on the Boards

Rebounding was a major issue for the Liberal Redskins Tuesday night.  Garden City dominated the undersized Redskins on the boards as the Buffaloes beat Liberal 54-38 in the Garden.

But rebounding weren’t Liberal’s only problems.  They struggled to shoot too making 1-11 three’s and missing many shots in close.  Turnovers were an issue as well.

But the Redskins scratched and clawed much of the way.  Trailing 12-6 after one and 22-16 at the half after Cameron Riley sank a deep 3.  Liberal cut the lead to 3 twice early in the third quarter before the Buffaloes went on a 20-3 run to lead 48-28.  Tristen Bigham led Liberal with nine in the loss.

LHS is 3-5 and 0-2 in the WAC.  The loss snapped a two game win streak at GCHS.  Garden is 6-2 and 2-0 in the WAC tied with 2-0 Hays.  Liberal hosts Dodge City Friday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
