Coffeyville Shocks Seward at the Buzzer

Coffeyville’s Lucy Burke sank a three pointer at the buzzer as Coffeyville shocked the Seward Lady Saints 64-61 Saturday afternoon at Nellis Hall in Coffeyville.
The Lady Saints trailed most of the afternoon. They led 17-15 after a quarter but went into the halftime locker room down 32-25. Coffeyville led 52-44 after 3. Seward tied the game 53-53 with 5:13 remaining. The Lady Ravens took a 59-53 lead with 2:07 to go. Seward rallied again to tie it at 59-59 with 4.6 seconds left with Mollie Mounsey’s clutch free throws before Burke’s 3 ripped right through the net at the buzzer sending Nellis Hall into a frenzy.
Seward shot just 32 percent while Coffeyville made 45 percent and held SCCC all American Mollie Mounsey to four points on 0-9 shooting. Lexi Hernandez scored 16. Seward is 7-2 and 5-2 in the Jayhawk while Coffeyville is 6-5 and 4-3. Seward hosts Allen in the Green House Wednesday at 6 on 107.5 and kscbnews.net.
